It's Wednesday, April 22nd: This week, builders can spin up entire campaigns from a single prompt with Canva AI 2.0, turn a codebase or a brief into pitch-ready visuals with Claude Design, and run 1T-parameter coding agents through Cloudflare with Kimi K2.6.

Head over to our Events Portal to get the latest on upcoming AI Collective events near you. Search by city, date, or event format, and join thousands of builders at events across 100+ chapters on every continent (except Antarctica, for now).

Canva AI 2.0 Turns One Prompt Into a Full Campaign

Canva’s new AI 2.0 (released April 16) turns the design app into a conversational workspace – describe what you want, get editable decks, social posts, and full multichannel campaigns back in one shot. With 265 million monthly users already on Canva, this is one of the biggest single-day product launches in the design space this year.

Quick Summary

The structure of Canva 2.0 consists of four parts:

  • Conversational Design: natural-language prompts become fully editable outputs in one shot

  • Agentic Orchestration: one instruction coordinates multi-step goals like "build the launch campaign across every channel"

  • Object-Based Intelligence: edit a single element without regenerating the whole file

  • Living Memory: learns your style and brand over time, updates designs automatically as brand imagery change

Canva now connects to Slack, Notion, Zoom, Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar. Plus, its proprietary models run "up to seven times faster and 30 times cheaper than comparable frontier alternatives," according to the company. That pricing position, plus owning its own models and infrastructure, is what COO Cliff Obrecht pointed to when he said, "If we're not going to disrupt ourselves, then we're going to be disrupted."

Canva AI 2.0 is a research preview rolling out to the first one million users who spot it on the Canva homepage, with broader availability coming in the next few weeks.

🎨 Claude Design Turns Ideas Into Pitch-Ready Visuals

On April 17, Anthropic Labs shipped Claude Design – a long-awaited feature by users. Hand it a prompt, a codebase, or a brief and it returns prototypes, slide decks, one-pagers, or full design systems. All the while, Claude Opus 4.7 is running under the hood and Canva’s Design Engine makes the rendering clean.

Quick Summary

With Claude Design, you can now:

  • Export to PDF, URL, PPTX, or push straight into Canva for team editing

  • Upload your codebase or existing design files and the tool applies your brand automatically

  • Iterate through natural-language refinements or direct element edits

Claude Design is in research preview for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers. The product runs on Claude Opus 4.7 and uses Canva's Design Engine to render visual output.

🛠️ Kimi K2.6 Lands on Cloudflare with 1T-Parameter Agentic Coding

Moonshot is the Chinese AI lab behind Kimi, and on April 20 their newest coding model landed on Cloudflare's developer platform. It's one of the strongest non-American coding models available right now, it scores in the same range as GPT-5.4 and Claude Opus 4.6 on the benchmarks developers actually care about, and you can call it from any app built on Cloudflare with essentially no setup.

Quick Summary

Kimi K2.6 is designed for agentic workloads that used to require heavy orchestration:

  • Long-horizon coding in Rust, Go, and Python

  • Agent swarm orchestration with 300 sub-agents running 4,000 coordinated steps

  • Coding-driven design: prompts turn directly into production interfaces

  • Vision input for multi-modal tasks

  • Configurable thinking and reasoning mode

  • Multi-turn tool calling

Benchmarks

The model scores competitively against GPT-5.4 and Claude Opus 4.6 on specialized tests: BrowseComp (83.2), SWE-Bench Verified (80.2), and Terminal-Bench 2.0 (66.7).

How to Use It

The model ID is @cf/moonshotai/kimi-k2.6. You can call it three ways:

  • Workers AI binding from inside a Cloudflare Worker

  • REST API via /ai/run

  • OpenAI-compatible endpoint at /v1/chat/completions

Full observability and caching are available through AI Gateway. You can also find pricing details on the Workers AI pricing page.
