🔧 Computer History Turns Your Workday Into Agent Context

OpenAI's Computer History is an opt-in macOS feature that turns allowed clicks, typing, app switches, and accessibility text into a recent-work timeline. Temporary activity files stay on the Mac for up to 48 hours. A brief Codex session processes them on OpenAI servers and saves the resulting memories as local Markdown.
Resume a task after a break without reconstructing every app, document, and next step.
Find a half-remembered file or conversation by asking what you were doing and where the source lives.
Control the boundary by excluding apps and sites, pausing collection, and deleting entries; screenshots, audio, and private browsing are excluded.
Off by default for ChatGPT Pro, Business, and Enterprise in the macOS desktop app. Business and Enterprise require admin access, and every member must opt in. Not available in the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK.
The pitch is convenience: stop re-explaining what you were doing and let the agent pick up where you left off. The cost is a running log of your clicks, keystrokes, and app switches, summarized on OpenAI's servers before it lands back on your Mac. To OpenAI's credit, the guardrails are real: off by default, files cleared in 48 hours, screenshots and audio excluded, and enterprises have to opt each person in. What we'd watch is whether "opt-in" stays meaningful once a team treats it as the default, because the most useful version of this feature is also the most complete record of your workday anyone has ever kept.

⚡ Cursor Origin Builds A Git Forge For Agent-Generated Code

Cursor describes Origin as a git forge for the agentic era. A git forge is the service that hosts repositories and coordinates code changes. Cursor's premise is that agents are producing code faster than existing infrastructure can absorb. The public page does not yet list detailed features, so the clearest signal is the product direction: repository infrastructure designed around agent-paced development.
Join the early beta from a paid Cursor plan and start with a non-critical repository.
Stress-Test the review bottleneck by measuring how many agent-created changes your current forge can absorb before queues form.
Track the official page as Cursor adds the feature details that are not yet public.
Early beta is available on all paid Cursor plans. The public access button routes to Cursor sign-in. Cursor has not published a detailed Origin feature list on the landing page.
Cursor is betting the bottleneck has moved. Agents can write code in volume now, and the slow part is a human reviewing it. Origin is their answer, a forge built for that pile-up. Worth being clear-eyed, though: the public page is a headline and a tagline, not a product, so this is a direction more than a thing you can evaluate yet. The test that matters is whether Origin actually helps a human stay in control of a flood of agent-written changes, or just gives the flood a nicer place to wait.
