It’s Wednesday, October 29th: In this week’s edition, we spotlight how AI Collective South Bay’s first Demo Night, DC’s AI Connections forum, and Abuja’s Windsurf Open Build each took a different path to the same goal: building smarter systems that are secure, transparent, and ready for deployment.

Head over to our Events Portal to get the latest on upcoming AI Collective events near you. Search by city, date, or event format, and join thousands of builders at events across 100+ chapters on every continent (except Antarctica, for now).

🌉 South Bay Demo Night: Five Startups, Practical Agent Workflows

The AI Collective South Bay chapter debuted in Santa Clara with an evening of live demos, conversation, and connection. Hosted by Vipin Kataria with co-hosts Sandeep Nama, Aakriti, and Shengqi Zhu, the event drew founders, engineers, and early-stage investors to explore what’s next in applied AI.
Autonomy, Descope, Delphi, Heizen, and PipesHub showcased twelve-minute demos, followed by direct Q&A and peer feedback. Discussions centered on agentic workflows, developer velocity, and user-driven iteration—turning abstract capabilities into tangible use cases. The night closed with networking and plans for a standing demo series across the Bay. Look out for more from this brand new chapter!
🏛️ AI Connections DC: Purposeful Conversations, Powered by Vannadium and Boardy

In Arlington, The AI Collective partnered with Vannadium and Boardy to host AI Connections, an event built around intentional networking and curated matches. Boardy’s pre-event introductions replaced icebreakers with meaningful dialogue, while sponsors Siol Venture Capital, Scale LLP, and Aideas supported a format designed for collaboration.
Nearly 100 founders, researchers, and executives joined the session, discussing secure data sharing, AI governance, and interoperability across Web3 systems. The evening underscored DC’s role as a policy-aware innovation hub where relationships form with purpose, not chance. Shoutout to our Founding Director of Operations, Catherine McMillan, and DC Chapter Co-Lead Jabari Grubb for your efforts bringing this together.
🇳🇬 Windsurf Abuja Open Build: AI-Powered Coding in Action

In Abuja, The AI Collective and Windsurf hosted a hands-on Open Build where local developers turned AI-assisted coding into working software. Led by Ofonime Brown and supported by community volunteers, the event blended setup guidance, prompt design, and live project builds.
Participants tested Windsurf’s real-time debugging and deployment tools, exploring faster, safer ways to write and refactor code. Builders left with working prototypes, new collaborators, and a clear sense of how AI can enhance—not replace—human problem-solving in software creation.
⚙️ Intelligence Without Exposure: AI Collective x Protopia Webinar

Presented by The AI Collective and Protopia AI, this virtual webinar explores how AI is reshaping financial services, and why privacy and governance are now the core barriers to scale.
Taking place virtually on Wednesday, November 5 at 11:00 AM PST, this session will show how financial institutions can run sensitive AI workloads in shared or serverless environments without exposing plaintext data - unlocking 3–10x cost efficiencies while meeting strict compliance requirements.
We’ll dive into how isolation-first architectures are slowing innovation, why privacy-preserving compute is emerging as a new industry standard, and how leading institutions are embedding secure AI capabilities directly into production systems.
RSVP to engage with top industry experts, gain practical frameworks for moving from pilots to deployment, and learn how to operationalize privacy-preserving AI across regulated environments.
