🎉 A New Chapter for the Newsletter

Over the last year, we’ve experienced some big moments together: a global rebrand, the launch of 100+ chapters on every continent, and an incredible community that now shows up online and in person every single week. Today, we are excited to share the next chapter for the newsletter.

We both joined the team nearly a year ago with a simple mandate to help build the highest-signal newsletter we could for this community. In that time, we have overseen this platform’s growth from roughly 30,000 readers to more than 130,000 founders, builders, and operators. No matter how long you’ve been with us, our promise to you is the same: create a single place to track the news, tools, jobs, and community that most people miss, with careful curation and clear standards.

In our global newsletter survey this June, you asked for more continuity, more story, and more signal. Starting today, that shows up in our new structure for each week:

  • 1️⃣ Monday: The Brief

    • Every Monday, you will get a focused summary of the most important AI news for people building products, teams, and companies. The News Roundup covers two or three stories in AI that actually matter, and On the Radar flags launches, conferences, and dates we think should be on your radar.

  • 2️⃣ Wednesday: The Special Issue

    • On Wednesdays, we shift to the practical side. Today’s Top Tools highlights five products that builders in our network actually use. Jobs in AI pulls a small set of roles from companies in the community so you can see where the market is moving.

  • 3️⃣ Friday: The Community Edition

    • Fridays are for our incredible network itself. Inside the Collective spotlights two or three standout chapter events from around the world. Voices From Our Community lifts up posts and projects from members of our community whose work is shaping the global AI conversation.

Alongside those changes, a few sections will show up in every issue so you always know where to find them:

  • 🗺️ Discover Events: A consistent banner at the top that takes you straight to our Luma page so you can see what is coming up in your city and RSVP.

  • 🗒️ Community Notes: Short, clearly labeled blocks where members and sponsors share products, events, or initiatives in 100 to 150 words with a direct next step. We curate these carefully and only feature things we would consider ourselves.

  • 🔘 Our Premier Partner, Roam: Roam has been an invaluable supporter of our mission, and we hope you’ll check out the many offers they run.

  • 👋 Before You Go: A closing section with social links, ways to get involved with The AI Collective, and information on how to get your company or opportunity featured.

Please take 30 seconds to share how we can make this the most useful 10 minutes of your week.👇

Head over to our Luma page to get the latest on upcoming AI Collective events near you. Search by city, date, or event format, and join thousands of builders at events across 100+ chapters on every continent (except Antarctica, for now).

The AI news you need to know: weekly.

Inside America’s Plan to Turn 17 National Labs into AI Infrastructure

News: President Trump has launched an executive order creating the Genesis Mission, ran out of the Department of Energy. The central mission is to apply AI and supercomputing to “pressing national challenges” across domains like advanced manufacturing, biotech, fusion, quantum, and semiconductors. With the support of DOE’s 17 national labs, this marks the largest American infrastructure investment in AI yet.

Details:

Why It Matters: This is the U.S. building AI as national scientific infrastructure. The Genesis Mission represents a new doctrine: breakthroughs in climate, biotech, and materials science will be AI‑accelerated.

Expect massive public‑private partnerships (wink wink, below), new funding flows, and significant competition with China’s national labs.

The $100 Billion Compute Backbone You Didn’t See Coming

News: Brookfield Corporation has launched a $100 billion global AI infrastructure initiative — one of the largest capital deployments in the sector to date — in partnership with NVIDIA and KIA, aimed at building the physical backbone for the AI era.

Details:

Why It Matters: Brookfield’s program reflects a seismic shift: foundational infrastructure is the next frontier of AI investing. With estimates that global AI infra could require $7 trillion in capital this decade, Brookfield is moving early, with deep partnerships and massive scale.

Your pulse on the biggest events and announcements and happening in AI this week.

This week features a heavy concentration of enterprise software and retail earnings. The “software flush” is particularly notable as companies like Salesforce and Snowflake report concurrently with the industry’s biggest event, AWS re:Invent.

  • December 1 – December 5: AWS re:Invent 2025 (Las Vegas)

    • Amazon’s flagship cloud conference kicks off with expected announcements on “Trainium3” silicon chips and autonomous AI agents for Bedrock.

  • December 2 – December 7: NeurIPS 2025 (San Diego)

    • The world’s premier academic AI conference begins its main track, featuring deep dives into reasoning models, robotics, and post-training scaling laws. Don’t miss our After Hours event on Friday, December 5 if you’ll be in town.

🌉 The AI Collective SF: AI and Robotics in Drug Discovery

AI and robotics promise to transform drug discovery, but the gap between proof of concept and real impact is still wide. This session on Thursday, December 4th brings together leaders from Olden Labs, Permanence Bio, and GenBio AI for a grounded look at where the field is still constrained by biology, data, and deployment reality.

Panelists will walk through concrete use cases, from automated home-cage monitoring and genome-stabilizing therapeutics to multiscale models for predicting and programming biology. Moderated by Anastasia Shindyapina (Retro Biosciences) and Kia Winslow (BioAge Labs), the discussion will focus on where automation and models truly accelerate target ID, experimentation, and in vivo validation, and where they fail in practice.
