đ SF Bay Area | Pitch Night: Founders, Funds, A Full House

San Francisco filled the AWS Builder Loft for the debut of SF Pitch Night, a format shift from demos to full investor-grade pitches. Six pre-Series A teams took the stage before a panel of Anne Dwane, Jeremiah Owyang, Chris Messina, and Grace Gong. The crowd stayed locked in through live feedback, audience investing, and sharp exchanges that tested clarity and conviction.
Treinsit swept both Best Pitch and Top Funded, while Toolhouse, Mutanex, Hailcube, Alpic, and Cliqk drew serious follow-ups. Attendance crossed 300, with founders, investors, and operators packed shoulder-to-shoulder until closing. The next event opens soon â founders can apply to pitch, or subscribe for early access.
đŞđš Addis Ababa | Windsurf Open Build: Builders Over Buzzwords

The Addis chapter gathered developers for a hands-on Windsurf Open Build, where AI-assisted coding turned from concept to collaboration. Students, engineers, and volunteers built side by side, sharing workflow tips and practical examples of AI in daily development.
The takeaway was grounded and local: AI isnât a shortcut, itâs a shared toolset. Participants left with working prototypes, new collaborators, and a deeper sense of how to use AI responsibly. The chapter will keep the momentum with recurring build sessions and community-led showcases.
đ¨đŚ Ottawa | AI & Ethics: Promises and Perils

Ottawaâs evening on AI ethics drew a full house to examine bias, governance, and trust in real-world systems. Tina Crouse opened with a keynote on responsibility and transparency, followed by a panel moderated by Stephen GagnĂŠ featuring Heidi Hauver, Heather Cayouette, and Mohamed Sharaf. The discussion stayed groundedâdata lineage, consent, and accountability took precedence over abstractions.
Key takeaways: ethical risk starts with weak governance, not code; transparency accelerates trust; and augmentation should outrun automation. Supported by Hub350, the team closed by outlining a follow-on series linking policy, education, and entrepreneurship.
đ¤ Private-by-Design AI for Video and Beyond: Live on Nov 19

Protopia AI, Miriel AI, and CyborgDB join forces for a live session on building AI systems that connect video, documents, and transcripts without exposing sensitive information. Hosted by The AI Collective, the discussion explores how context engines reduce hallucinations while encryption and privacy-in-use techniques keep data secure from ingest to inference.
Speakers include Eiman Ebrahimi (Protopia AI), Josh Paulson (Miriel AI), and Nicolas Dupont (CyborgDB), moderated by Charlcye Mitchell. The session runs Wednesday, Nov 19 at 11 AM PT.
Join the session live and see privacy-first AI in action. đ
âĄď¸ Lightning Talk: The Shift to AI-Native DevOps
