What 100+ events across more than 30 countries told us when we asked one question: what does it mean to be human in the AI era?

Technological progress accelerates. The curve compounds on itself, steeper every month, and it is not slowing down for anyone.

Human adaptive capacity does the opposite. We make sense of change at the speed we always have, and in fact it’s harder than ever to keep up.

Put the two on the same chart and you see it immediately. One races up. One slides down. The space between them opens wider every day.

We call that space the Trust Gap.

It is the distance between how fast the world is changing and how fast people can actually keep up, make sense of it, and believe in it. When that gap widens, trust is the first thing to break. Trust in the tools. Trust in what is real. Trust in each other.

Everyone in this industry is racing to widen the gap from one side: build faster, ship sooner, need humans less.

We exist for the other side. We are the human side of AI.

Last week we did something that, on paper, makes no sense for an AI community.

We stopped talking about the models.

We asked every chapter on earth to host an event around a single question.

Not which model is best. Not which coding harness 10x your token burn.

One question: What does it mean to be human in the AI era?

This question was deliberately chosen because it’s one of those ‘forever questions’ that changes depending on when and where you ask it - but yet is fundamental to human nature and one of the most consequential questions of our lifetime.

On every registration, we asked people to answer the question in their own words. Strangers, in dozens of languages, typing out what they believe makes them human.

We expected fear. The headlines are all displacement and doom, so we braced for it.

Fear barely showed up. Less than 3% of answers led with anxiety about being replaced.

The single most common answer, across every country, was not about jobs or skills or productivity. It was about each other.

Empathy. Presence. Connection. The most human thing, it turns out, is the most relational thing. It was the largest single theme by a wide margin.

The next thread was about staying in the driver's seat. Do not outsource your thinking. Stay the author, the decider, the one who chooses.

And underneath all of it, an insistence on purpose. AI as the tool. The human as the steering wheel.

This community is not afraid of the future. It is reaching for it. That is rare right now, and it is ours.

The point was never to land on an answer, but to keep asking it, and to refine ourselves in the asking.

More than 30 countries. Dozens of languages. Every single room took the same question and answered it differently. No two cities saw it the same way.

The human side of AI does not have one answer, because humanity does not have one answer. It has billions.

Last week was the largest human gathering the AI world has ever seen. Thousands of people, more than 30 countries, six continents, all asking the same question and answering it in their own voice.

And this is the first of many.
