It's Wednesday, June 24th. Adobe sent its creative agent out of Photoshop and into ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, so editing starts wherever you type. OpenAI expanded Daybreak, putting its new GPT-5.5-Cyber model and funded researchers to work finding and patching the open-source bugs the internet runs on.

TOOL SPOTLIGHT
1️⃣ Adobe's AI Assistant Runs Your Edits From One Prompt

Image from Adobe
Adobe expanded its creative agent across Firefly and Creative Cloud on June 18. One AI Assistant now spans Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io, and the same assistant reaches into ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Describe the outcome you want and it runs the multi-step edit for you.
Describe your brand name, style, and colors, and AI Assistant in Firefly generates a complete logo, brand identity, and color palette you can save.
Hand Photoshop or Premiere a plain-English outcome and let the assistant run the multi-step workflow, from background swaps to layer organization and batch renaming.
AI Assistant is in public beta across Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Frame.io, and InDesign now, with After Effects in private beta. The upgraded Firefly studio experience is in private beta through a waitlist. Reach it through the Firefly web app or the Creative Cloud apps where the beta is live.
For years Adobe's moat was the app itself: you had to open Photoshop to touch Photoshop. Putting the same assistant inside ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot gives that up on purpose. Adobe is betting creative work now starts in whatever window is already open, and it would rather be the engine behind your prompt than the icon you forget to click. The thing to watch is whether the editing still feels like Adobe once it's one step removed from the app that made Adobe Adobe.

2️⃣ OpenAI's Daybreak Now Finds The Bugs And Funds The Fixes

Image from OpenAI
OpenAI expanded Daybreak on June 22 with the full release of GPT-5.5-Cyber, a model it calls more capable and more permissive for authorized security work, and Patch the Planet, an open-source effort built with Trail of Bits.
Point GPT-5.5-Cyber at hard targets, the model scores 85.6% on the CyberGym benchmark and has surfaced a 23-year-old flaw in the OpenBSD kernel and five exploitable bugs in Chrome's V8 engine.
Run Codex Security across your repos, the same scanner that has checked 30 million commits across 30,000 codebases and produced more than 500,000 documented fixes since March.
Back open-source maintainers through Patch the Planet, where funded researchers help projects like cURL, Go, and Python close vulnerabilities small teams cannot reach alone.
GPT-5.5-Cyber is a limited release for vetted defenders through OpenAI's Trusted Access for Cyber program, with extra monitoring and controls. Security vendors including CrowdStrike, Cisco, IBM, Okta, Palo Alto Networks, and Wiz are integrating the models through a partner program. OpenAI disclosed no pricing.
The headline numbers are the offensive ones: a 23-year-old OpenBSD kernel bug, five exploitable V8 flaws. Those are the demo. The bet worth watching is Patch the Planet. cURL, Go, and Python, the code the whole internet leans on, are often held up by a few maintainers doing it on nights and weekends. Pointing funded researchers and a cyber model at that gap is the move that could actually shift supply-chain risk, assuming the patches land faster than GPT-5.5-Cyber teaches attackers to find the same holes.
